Amigos, here is the best way to make money fast that I can think of. I have done it and I still do it occasionally when I want to make extra money and I want it fast.
(I should say it’s the best way to make money fast honestly. As you know, there are other ways to make money fast but I don’t recommend them!)
Drive Uber or Lyft
Yes, yes, I know, you probably were hoping there was a magic button you could press and dollars from heaven would start raining down on you. I wish, but the world doesn’t work that way.
But consider driving for Uber for really fast cash.
Before I get in to WHY you should consider this, let me get the requirements out of the way:
1. You must be 18 or older
2. Your car must be 10 years old or newer
3. You need a 4 door car
4. You need to be able to send proof to Uber that you are legit, i.e. drivers license, proof of insurance and car registration.
Once you do that, Uber will take about a week to do their background check and once they clear you, you’re good to go.
First, is it the only way to make fast money?
No. But its probably the fastest way (assuming you have all the pre-requisites out of the way).
You can make money online too, but its only fast if you have the infrastructure already in place.
By infrastructure, I mean:
- a website populated with content
- social media posts
- traffic already coming to your site
- a big email list where you can send out an email and get money.
The online aspect is totally do-able, but it takes time. Sadly, there is no way around it.
Every legit way of making money fast takes some effort. I hope you aren’t thinking you can lay back on the sofa while watching TV and make lots of money. Again, the world doesn’t work that way.
But, if you are willing to go out driving for a few hours, you WILL make money. You will also be able to get it immediately if you want to, too.
Here’s why you should consider driving for Uber.
1. It’s safe
I’ve been driving for Uber for over two years and I have no horror stories. Uber does a very good job of screening both driver and passenger before allowing them to use Uber, so that eliminates a lot of the risk.
Also, you choose to drive where and when you like. If you don’t feel comfortable with a certain part of town, don’t drive there.
If you pick up a passenger that wants to go there, take them there and when you drop them off, turn off the Uber app. Turn it on again after you get back to the part of town you like.
Also, you choose your hours. There is a saying that ‘Nothing good ever happens after midnight.’
If you don’t want to deal with potential problems, finish your driving before it gets too late at night.
hint: people who are inebriated are not at their best.
2. You meet the nicest people
This is actually one of the reasons I drive for Uber every now and then. I love meeting new people and its just very encouraging to meet so many interesting, kind and nice people. Is there any job on the planet where EVERYONE is nice? No. But truthfully, Uber passengers are for the most part kind, courteous, friendly and considerate.
3. You have the option of using Uber to pick up passengers and/or deliver food.
If you don’t feel comfortable with having strangers get in your car, just do Uber eats. That way Uber will only send you food delivery requests and not passenger requests.
4. If you are nice to your passengers, you will usually get good tips
I am continually astounded by how generous Uber passengers are. Its actually very heartwarming. Once, I picked up an 18 year old girl who was waiting in the rain outside her apartment complex. She was going to her job at night at a fast food restaurant. We got to talking and she said her mom was in a wheelchair and couldn’t work, so she was working to help out.
When she got out of the car, she handed me $3.00 as a tip for a ride that lasted less than 4 minutes.
I thanked her and handed it back to her and said to take care of her mom. What a blessing that young girl was. It gives you hope when you see how great some people are.
5. Uber pays on time, every time.
You can get paid once a week like clockwork for the rides you’ve given the previous week, or you can ‘cash out’ immediately.
Uber will direct transfer the money either to your bank account or to a debit card from Go Bank, if you’ve set one up.
If you use the debit card from Go Bank, your money arrives immediately and there is no charge to withdraw from any bank’s ATM machines.
When I first started Uber I decided to test it out… I drove around for about 20 minutes in the early afternoon and didn’t get a single pick up.
I thought it was useless and that Uber was just hype.
So I never bothered to use it again, until about 5 months later I was at home and thought ‘I wonder if I turn the app on again if I’ll get a pickup?’.
So, totally expecting nothing would happen, I turned on the Uber app, and within 5 minutes I got a pickup request.
I left my house, picked up the passenger and then that evening I got another couple of requests.
I made $23.95. I was shocked. I was gone about an hour and a half. Really, it was the easiest money I’d ever made.
One final note.
If you don’t like people, but like driving, do Uber eats only. Don’t pick up passengers.
If you don’t like driving at all, don’t do Uber at all.
But, if you like driving (or at least don’t mind it) and you like people, give it a try.
